Chule Day at Glen Ivy

Every year on April 3rd, all of us at Glen Ivy celebrate "Chule Day" in honor of our long-time guests and friends, Dimitri & Vera Chule, whose lives truly exemplify the spirits of gratitude and generosity.

On this Chule Day, Glen Ivy Hot Springs Spa will celebrate the occasion by collecting food to donate to Second Harvest Food Bank in Riverside. Guests that bring a food donation on April 3, 2009, will receive $10 off spa admission for the day. As well, Glen Ivy will donate $5 from each admission to help those in need.

All food donations must be non-perishable food items that are commercially canned or packaged. Some suggestions are soups, stews, fruits, vegetables, tuna, sauces, and boxed meals like pasta, rice, and macaroni & cheese.

Acts of kindness and generosity can be shown in many ways whether it be donating canned food items, volunteering your time, showing forgiveness or saying hi to a stranger. Your attitude and positive energy can make a difference in someone's life - show someone you care on this special day!

We hope that you will join us in the celebration of the Chule family this Friday and if you have a story of unexpected kindness, please share it with us! We would love to hear from you!

“Life is an echo. What you send out, you get back. What you give, you get.” -Zin Ziglar

March MUDness DAY 20

It's a bittersweet day- Taking photos for March MUDness is over but now voting begins! We sure did go out with a bang today though! :-)

It was 1:31 pm when I made my way to Club Mud to start taking photos. Sounds of chest beating and roaring echoed the walkway I found myself upon. I was intrigued. Once I turned the corner into the mud area, Karen and her guests surrounded me and that was when I realized what the sound was ;-) See for yourself ...

I also spotted some prehistoric creatures today along with an Angelina Jolie look-a-like. I think I even saw Charlie's Angels in the mud!

Thanks again to everyone who participated in March MUDness! I had a great time and hope you all did as well!

March MUDness DAY 19

"They teach anything in universities today. You can major in mud pies." - Orson Welles

If this were true, after today, I would be encouraging A LOT of people to apply to that college! I had some pretty fun and creative people today. The backwards lady stopped by for a photo and so did some Charlie Chaplin fans ;-) And then there was Jay. He was a cross between an alien and Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Take a look ... what do you see?

As exciting, I met Maria, our newest member to Club Mud! This was Maria's first mud experience and I was there to snap a photo for her! I also met Richard and his new wife! Congrats to the happy couple! Glad we could be a part of your journey ...

Enjoy!

March MUDness DAY 18

"They may take our lives but they'll not take our freedom!"

If Mel Gibson had painted himself with mud instead of blue paint for the film Braveheart, he might have looked similar to Sam or Lynn. Thank goodness there were no swords and no charging of the photographer today. There was only an innocent mud fight :-)

We also had some great body art today along with some amazing face sculptures and muddy bellies! I was even able to get a photo of a Carmen Miranda impersonator as she made her way through Club Mud with her famous FRUIT HAT!

Until tomorrow ...
